Madayipara is a flat topped hilly village located at the Madayi panchayath in Kannur district of Kerala in Southern India. This hillock is overlooking Payayangadi town on the northern banks of Kuppam river.
The place is popular being the site for the Madayi Kavu alias Thiruvar Kadu Bhagavathi Kshethram (temple) of Goddess Kali, Shakthi, the Vadukunnu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The Shiva temple of Madayipara was destroyed by followers of Tippu Sultan in the 18th century. However, the temple has been rebuilt now.
The place is also known for the Malik Bin Dinar mosque, which is believed to have been originally built by Malik Bin Dinar, a Muslim preacher who had travelled from Makkah to Kerala for spreading Islam. The remnants of a fort is also present here, and this part is known as Kottakunnu.
