History of Malampuzha Dam

Malampuzha Dam is the largest reservoir in Kerala, located near Palakkad in south India with the scenic hills of the Western Ghats in the background.Malampuzha Rock Garden is maintained by the District Tourism Promotion Council, Palakkad, is the first-of-its-kind in South India.
The idea for a dam in the Malampuzha region to boost agriculture started from the second decade of the 20th Century.Garden House, a Budget picnic hotel of KTDC located on a hillock overlooks the Malampuzha dam and offers a majestic view of the Western Ghats in Palakkad.
